Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sell and Install tank and tankless water heaters, filtration systems and softeners.
  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures and piping in heating, water and drainage systems.
  • Identify plumbing and safety problems and take necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools.
  • Comply with all required building, safety codes, and inspection requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other instructions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state regulations affecting plumbing work.
  • Navigate the assembly and installation of pipes and tubes without interfering with existing infrastructure.
  • Measure, cut and bend pipe material.
  • Assemble valves, fittings, tubes and water system appliances.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
  • Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Coordinating with a General Contractor and other building professionals on a jobsite.
  • Keeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work.
  • Preparing budgets and estimating costs to bid on potential work.
  • Performing regular maintenance of plumbing systems to prevent emergencies.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Able to work on call on a rotating basis.

Balanced Comfort is looking to hire HVAC Service Technicians. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to maintain and repair our customers’ AC & Heating systems. The HVAC Service Technician will assist with repairing and calibrating systems, and replacing various components such as transformers, thermostats and compressors. You will diagnose problems, explain these to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customers, and offer alternative solutions. You will order and collect parts once the customer gives approval, and communicate with your supervisor regarding challenges. To ensure success your customer skills should be as good as your technical aptitude, and you need to be well-versed in safety precautions. Top candidates are detail-oriented, organized and friendly.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing HVAC systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Troubleshooting defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnoses.
  • Performing preventative maintenance by cleaning reheat coils and air handling units, and monitoring and calibrating air handling units.
  • Improving air quality by cleaning ducts to optimize efficiency.
  • Fixing, replacing and adjusting vents, and ductwork. Ensuring the condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of maintenance functions.
  • Maintaining service truck.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
  • 2+ year HVAC experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Proficient electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.

  • Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications
  • Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment
  • Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering
  • Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial and residential buildings
  • Ensure connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done
  • Determine the right material needed for installation work by pre-measuring jobs
  • Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirm and load them into company vehicle
  • Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management
  • Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers
  • Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled out
  • Carry out readings on machines with the full understanding of the implication of such readings
  • Ensure assigned company vehicle is kept clean
  • Perform any other duty that may be directed by management.

  • EPA certification to handle refrigerants
